Civil Design and Installation Manager

Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Zur Verstärkung des GRID Systems Integration (GSI) Team suchen wir eine/n engagierte/n Civil Design and Installation Manager:in (m/w/d) für die selbständige Abwicklung von Bauleistungen für Umspannwerksprojekte & HVDC Projekte. Eine Bereitschaft zu Dienstreisen für bundesweite Kundentermine und regelmäßige Baustellenbesuche wird vorausgesetzt. In Abhängigkeit der Auftragslage sind später auch weitere Projekte in der Region "Central Europe" möglich.

The task overview includes the independent handling of construction services for HVDC as well as large projects in the AC substation area. The projects are to be accompanied in all project phases, from the preparation of offers to the final documentation, with particular focus on the following areas:

• Screening and analysis of the functional tender documents of the end customer
• Coordination of internal interfaces and processes
• Identifying and highlighting special proposals and optimization potential
• Creation of the task description and request for the scope of work of the construction technology
• Identification of potential construction partners
• Creation of tenders, as well as obtaining and evaluating offers for the scope of work of construction technology
• Determination of the calculation costs, including the identification and evaluation of risks
• Negotiation with end customers and subcontractors

• Independent handling of the scope of work of the construction technology and management of the civil engineering team within the project
• Coordination and development of the plant layout as well as communication with all internal engineering functions in an international project environment
• Creation and negotiation, together with sourcing, of project-specific subcontractor contracts of all parties involved in the scope of work of construction technology such as planning offices, geotechnical consultants, construction companies
• Coordination of construction planning, document management, possibly including the necessary official applications (BImSchG)
• Participation in project meetings with the end customer
• Ensuring strict compliance with all relevant occupational safety standards
• Organization, leadership and possibly the protocoling of regular site meetings with the commissioned subcontractors on site
• Identification of deviations from the contractual scope of services, notification and elaboration of handover-ready amendments, negotiation with the end customer
• Examination, evaluation and negotiation of the additional claims submitted by the subcontractors
• Regular control of construction progress with comparison of planned schedule versus actual progress, possibly recognizing delays and initiating compensatory measures
• Control and ensuring compliance with all quality standards resulting from the contract documents and the applicable standards
• Invoice control of incoming subcontractor invoices based on payment plans or progress-related billing
• Acceptance of construction services from subcontractors

• Negotiating skills in German and English in writing and speaking
• University degree in civil engineering or architecture or technical degree with many years of relevant experience
• Experience in the handling of international large projects and the management of subcontractors and personnel
• Secure application of relevant contractual regulations such as BGB, VOB, HOAI
