Architectural Designer – Transit Design-Build Projects

We are seeking Architectural Designers to join our team for a new LIRR Design-Build transit project. We welcome professionals with varying levels of experience, from junior (3-5 years) to intermediate (5+ years), to support architectural production, drafting, and design documentation activities for transit infrastructure projects. The role involves working primarily with Micro Station, although training will be provided for candidates with the potential to learn quickly.

This position offers the chance to work collaboratively on a high-profile project with aggressive schedules.

• Support architectural production, drafting, and design documentation for transit infrastructure projects.
• Perform daily production work using Micro Station to support active LIRR transit projects.
• Create coordinated drawing sets and construction documents.
• Contribute to transportation, transit, MTA, LIRR, infrastructure, or public-agency projects.
• Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced project environment with strict mobilization timelines.
• Work within structured document control environments and coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, and contract managers.
• Support design-build projects and collaborate across multiple project teams.

• Proficiency in Micro Station for daily production work.
• Strong architectural drafting and production experience.
• Experience with transportation, transit, MTA, LIRR, infrastructure, or public-agency projects.
• Ability to contribute immediately in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong coordination skills in multi-team project settings.

• Familiarity with Open Buildings and Bentley 3D environments preferred.
• Experience with Project Wise or similar document management systems.
• Design-build delivery experience preferred.
• Ability to learn new software quickly if not already experienced.

The work environment is a hybrid office located at 306 West 37th Street, 9th Floor, New York, NY. It includes a collaborative project atmosphere with multiple transit-focused teams. There will be significant interaction with project managers, discipline leads, and technical reviewers. The environment is fast-paced, supporting active mobilization efforts.

This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
