Staff Electrical Engineer
This role is a senior-level opportunity to lead the electronics design and architecture of high-volume consumer hardware products. As the Staff Electrical Engineer, you will own end-to-end hardware development—from early prototypes to mass production—while collaborating across firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and overseas engineering teams. If you excel in low-power system design, RF architectures, PCB development, and scaling complex hardware through production, this position offers significant technical ownership and impact.
WhatYou Will Do
- Own Electronics Design – Lead hardware development across proof-of-concept, EVT/DVT builds, validation, and release to mass production.
- System Architecture & Optimization – Drive schematic design, PCB layout guidance, component selection, and overall hardware architecture.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and international engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Low-Power Engineering – Develop and refine power management strategies for ultra-low-power applications.
- Manufacturing Support – Work with overseas contract manufacturers/JDM partners on design reviews, testing, validation, and production scaling.
- Hardware Bring-Up & Testing – Lead board bring-up, debug, test development, and safety/qualification processes.
8+ years of electrical engineering experience in high-volume consumer electronics.
Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Deep expertise in:
- Low-power system design
- Lithium-ion battery-powered systems
- RF systems (Wi-Fi, LTE, GNSS) and antenna design
- Sensors and mixed-signal circuit design
- Digital communication buses
Proficiency with schematic capture & PCB layout software (Altium preferred).
Advanced lab debugging skills—oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, etc.
Ability to solder and rework components down to 0201 under a microscope.
Experience leading hardware development from prototype → production.
Familiarity with firmware concepts, with basic C or Python for testing/support.
Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional and international teams.
Willingness to travel to China as needed.
