Responsibilities- Perform accounting for mortgage loan investments and service a portfolio of loans, including recording journal entries (acquisitions, dispositions, collections, disbursements, adjustments, etc.).
- Address various ad-hoc loan tasks/inquiries (billing, escrow analysis, escrow payments, payment history, adjustable-rate settings, etc.) for internal and external clients.
- Support financial and investment reporting, including STAT and TAX reporting, and participate in projects as required.
- Contribute to a well-controlled environment by following procedures and collaborating with the team.
- Service a portfolio of loans, including communication with borrowers/servicers/colleagues, processing transactions, researching payments, preparing/reviewing escrow analysis, full payment statements, amortization schedules and loan payment histories.
- Execute assignments according to procedures and controls; apply decision making to operational requests.
- Prepare, gather, analyze, build, organize and/or review reporting for various requests and inquiries.
- Prepare reporting assignments with clearly documented workpaper references.
- Assist with special projects and research work.
- Learn existing reporting sources and develop/improve reporting.
- Prepare test plans and assist with planning and testing new systems, releases and reporting enhancements.
- Provide feedback for process improvements and implement procedures (e.g., more efficient system use, enhanced reports).
- Provide ad-hoc reporting as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business and/or computer science preferred; other degrees considered.
- 3+ years of experience in loan servicing of commercial mortgage loans; construction loans a plus.
- Knowledge of SS&C’s Precision LM system.
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Knowledge of Qlik Sense, Business Objects, Crystal Report Writer and Microsoft SQL Server technology to create SQL Queries a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; team player with self-starter attitude; ability to work independently.
- Ability to solve problems by analyzing and proposing solutions using education, experience, judgment and precedents.
