Vetta Fi is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Index Research Intern to join our dynamic team for the Summer 2026 Session. As an intern to our global index operations, you will have insight into the full lifecycle of the index business from methodology creation, back testing, and daily calculation and maintenance. Your work will directly support Vetta Fi's diverse client base, helping them launch and manage innovative financial products, both exchange-traded and non-exchange-traded.

This role serves as an excellent opportunity for career growth, offering exposure to Vetta Fi's broader teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Corporate Action Research and Impact Analysis:
Learn about different types of corporate actions and analyze the impact to each index, ensuring that their implementation aligns with index methodology guidelines, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

* Index Backtesting Support:
Assist in buildout of Developed Markets Equity indexes by researching companies, sourcing historical data, and testing calculations.

* Client Support:
Provide timely and thorough responses to a range of index-related client inquiries, from corporate actions to statistical analysis and marketing collateral.

Must haves:

* Education:

Actively pursuing or recently obtained Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.

* Organizational

Skills:

Excellent time management, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.

* Communication

Skills:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences. Comfort and confidence in speaking to groups, including both internal teams and external stakeholders or clients, including those unfamiliar with the subject matter.

* Team-Oriented: A highly motivated team player who demonstrates integrity and courage in all endeavors.

* Growth Mindset:
Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

* Adaptability:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Nice to haves:

* Technical Expertise:
Advanced proficiency in Excel; ability to design, manipulate, and maintain large datasets with precision.

* Programming

Skills:

Familiarity with programming languages/tools such as SQL, VBA, Matlab, Python, and other database query tools.

* Financial Knowledge:
Strong understanding of portfolio theory, multi-asset allocation models, and financial/portfolio mathematics.

Additional Details:

* Location:

Hybrid (2 days per week in our New York Downtown office-Tuesday/Wednesday).

Salary Range: $20/hr USD. Please note that the Salary Range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
