Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Controller to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding hospitality company in New York, New York. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about building scalable accounting processes that support growth and operational excellence. As a key leader, you will oversee the accounting function, partner with executives, and play a crucial role in shaping the company's financial infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage the end-to-end accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial activities.

- Lead the preparation and delivery of financial reports, including month-end close processes, while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.

- Develop and implement robust internal controls and scalable processes to support the company's rapid expansion.

- Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure the financial stability of the organization.

- Coordinate and oversee audit processes, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors.

- Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

- Collaborate closely with operations, FP& A, and executive leadership to align financial strategies with business objectives.

- Address technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

- Enhance and optimize financial systems and infrastructure to support evolving business needs. Requirements - At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including a background in auditing with a Big 4 firm.

- Proven experience as a Controller in a high-growth or scaling company.

- Strong familiarity with technical accounting principles and practices.

- Hospitality industry experience is highly preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to build and refine accounting processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Expertise in managing month-end close, financial reporting, and cash flow.

- Comfortable working with and improving financial systems and infrastructure.

- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
