Bookkeeper

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented PART-TIME Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will oversee critical financial responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation tasks. This position is ideal for someone with a proven background in bookkeeping who is comfortable working onsite four days a week.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently and accurately.

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up-to-date and correct.

- Utilize FUND E-Z software for financial operations, with the possibility of transitioning to Quick Books.

- Maintain organized and precise documentation of transactions and financial activities.

- Provide support to stabilize daily accounting functions during organizational changes.

- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to manage workload and ensure smooth financial operations.

- Generate reports and analyze financial data for decision-making purposes.

- Address discrepancies and resolve issues to maintain the integrity of financial records.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

Requirements - Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a strong focus on accounts payable and receivable.

- Proficiency in FUND E-Z software and Quick Books Pro.

- Solid understanding of bank reconciliations and general accounting principles.

- Ability to work onsite in New York, New York, four days per week.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to generate accurate financial reports.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Familiarity with non-profit industry accounting is a plus.
