Soni is partnering with a Higher Education Organization seeking a Finance and Operations Coordinator. The Coordinator will be assigned to a science and technology center, and is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day financial transactions and the accounting operations. The Coordinator supports administration of the annual budget, provides reporting and analyses on financial activities, and collaborates closely with internal financial offices.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitors the center's financial activity to ensure compliance. Coordinates with internal stakeholders, including sub-awardees, to comply with any audit requirements.
  • Provides data analysis and reporting and works in close collaboration with the Finance team to complete all year-end transactions for the center. Assists with budget reports for the center's annual report, as well as post-award reporting.
  • Serves as a primary liaison with A/P, Procurement, Sponsored Projects Finance, and other internal stakeholders on financial and operational matters.
  • Monitors and processes invoices for the Center subawardees and other partners.
  • Initiates finance transactions including but not limited to Travel and Business Expense Reimbursements, purchase orders, and processing invoices. Reviews and reconciles all Pcard and Ccard transactions, as applicable.
  • Processes any receipt of funds and ensures funds are recorded on the appropriate projects.
  • Initiates or reviews cost transfers and prepares salary distribution requests to ensure proper allocation of expenditures.
  • Initiates / reviews journal entries and internal costs, and oversees the allocation of expenses and recoveries
  • Assist with knowledge transfer and educational events organization and event support.
  • Initiates service tickets and works with Facilities to follow-up on facilities-related needs within the center.
  • Manages travel reimbursement and funds advance.
  • Interfaces with other parts of the center (research, education, knowledge transfer, broadening participation) requiring budget allocation.
  • Works with staff to document workplace procedures and processes and to optimize efficiency through standardization
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ yrs experience in financial administration
  • High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
Preferred

Skills:
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with People Soft
  • Experience in higher education or other large, complex institutions
Compensation: $35-$38/ Hour
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
