Job Summary
The Vice President (VP) of Clinical Services will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the highest standards of clinical quality, compliance, and provider performance. This individual will combine the responsibilities of a Clinical Operations VP with the duties outlined below to drive organizational success, improve healthcare outcomes, and support clinical staff across all levels.
Responsibilities
- Educate and guide providers on compliance with MIPS, HEDIS, IPCP-1, IPCP-2, and Quality Assurance project requirements
- Create and implement clinical policies to standardize and improve patient care
- Ensure policies align with regulatory requirements and best practices
- Facilitate communication between providers, Collaborating Physicians, and Medical Directors to align with organizational goals and objectives
- Act as a liaison to resolve clinical or operational challenges efficiently
- Monitor providers' clinical performance metrics and compare results against quality benchmarks
- Deliver actionable feedback to enhance provider outcomes and ensure high-quality care delivery
- Assess the effectiveness of training sessions and workshops, implementing necessary improvements to enhance provider engagement and competency
- Provide strategic oversight for subspecialty divisions, including Pulmonology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Genitourinary, and Gastroenterology.
- Oversight of the providers and that they are informed of relevant changes and maintain compliance with coding guidelines
- Oversight of follow-up training sessions to reinforce CPT code workshops and verify provider proficiency
- Oversight of the identification and addressing gaps in clinical skills or knowledge through targeted evaluations and tailored feedback plans
- Provide continuous support for providers adapting to new workflows or processes, ensuring smooth transitions
- Lead the Hospital Transfer Rate (HTR) team, including preparation, analysis, and presentation of performance reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align clinical operations with organizational goals
- Oversee medical records requests to ensure accurate and timely submissions
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance and quality assurance purposes
- Direct day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to protocols
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization and operational efficiency
- Work closely with executives, medical directors, and clinical teams to define and implement organizational strategies
- Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement
- Prepare regular reports on clinical performance, operational metrics, and quality initiatives for senior leadership
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning
- Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes and overall care delivery
- Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by executive leadership to support the evolving needs of the organization
- A master's in healthcare administration, nursing (NP, ANP, DNP), medicine, or a closely related field
- Proven experience in clinical operations leadership, with a strong understanding of MIPS, HEDIS, and other quality metrics
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, develop strategies, and execute initiatives that improve clinical outcomes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels
- Expertise in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and performance improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to drive actionable insights.
