Associate Medical Director, Family Practice Compensation: $231,000 $ 300,000 annually (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Mondays to Fridays 8-5 PM or 4 day (10 hour shift available).
Location:
Greater Sacramento area, CA (Multiple locations available)
We are seeking a full-time Associate Medical Director of Family Practice to provide both clinical leadership and direct patient care within a community health center setting. This role partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer to oversee quality improvement, provider performance, workflow optimization, and strategic initiatives, while maintaining an active outpatient practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a Family Practice leader who is passionate about serving underserved communities and advancing clinical excellence in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities Maintain advanced clinical expertise in Family Practice aligned with current guidelines and standards of care Monitor clinician performance using established quality metrics and peer review processes
Assist with annual provider evaluations and performance development plans
Develop and implement improvement strategies for clinicians or sites needing performance enhancement
Review, update, and develop Family Practice policies, procedures, workflows, and EHR templates
Oversee referral utilization and establish standardized referral processes to improve specialty access
Collaborate with executive leadership on clinical strategy and operational priorities
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and credentialing requirements
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high-quality care Provide comprehensive outpatient Family Practice care, including acute, chronic, and preventive services
Perform thorough evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and referrals
Deliver culturally competent, patient-centered care Support care coordination and patient engagement efforts
Maintain productivity standards while ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes
Review labs, consults, and patient messages in a timely manner
Complete accurate documentation, coding, and billing within required time frames
Maintain ongoing continuing education and licensure requirements
