The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The WINGS+++ Project within the Social Intervention Group (SIG) at the Columbia School of Social Work, seeks a Project Director (PD) to manage a multi-year, NIDA-funded innovative study that that will be integrating IPV, PTSD, and opioid/substance use disorder (OUD/SUD) interventions in Orange County, NYS.

Under the direction of and reporting to the Principal Investigators (MPIs), the PD will provide day-to-day operational leadership for a community-engaged, mixed-methods, protocol-driven clinical trial and will manage milestones and deliverables. The PD will be integral as the Study transitions from its pilot phase to its expansion Orange County.

THIS POSITION IS GRANT-FUNDED. CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT ON FUNDING AVAILABILITY.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily WINGS+++ operations, ensuring all study milestones and deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Serve as primary liaison with community partners, Community Action Working Group (CAWG) members, and government/clinical agencies.
  • Under the direction of the MPIs, act as the day-to-day central supervisor for WINGS+++ research implementation staff
  • Oversee research and operations of WINGS+++ implementation at jail sites while supervising two-three project coordinators
  • Manage information-sharing between locally embedded project coordinators and investigators
  • Liaise with investigators to ensure WINGS+++ operations work support WINGS+++ aims and fidelity to the intervention
  • Liaise with project workstream leads to ensure overall project management and alignment in terms of work plans, content, and deadlines
  • Manage partner relations with WINGS+++ sub-awardees, contractors, vendors, and consultants
  • Act as the liaison to the Columbia IRB and coordinate IRB deliverables with WINGS+++ investigators
  • Prepare IRB submissions, annual progress and financial reports, and other study-related protocols and documents
  • Provides programmatic information to Grants Manager needed to monitor use of WINGS+++ funds
  • Collaborate with MPIs on projects related to community relations, data, CUIT, strategy and workflow development
  • Manage data collection efforts including recruitment and retention of participants, administration of study instruments, etc.
  • Train and supervise research staff including BA, MPH, MSW, and PhD students
  • Organize and facilitate team meetings and reports
  • Create and maintain secure project databases and assist with data cleaning, coding, and analysis
  • Collaborate with the investigative team in the preparation and submission of conference abstracts, manuscripts, and grant proposals
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5
    -7 years of related experience required.
  • Prior experience in study/project coordination and management required
  • Expertise in HIV, behavioral health, substance use, or violence prevention research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • At least 7 years of equivalent supervisory and project management experience.
  • Work experience that includes management and implementation of at least one large scale health-related project
  • Experience in harm-reduction settings.
  • Experience working with community-level programming and/or with specifically for substance using populations and communities of color and/or LGBTQAI+ communities preferred
  • Strong project management skills, including organization of individual and team work; prioritization; problem solving; adaptability; flexibility; and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with multiple stakeholders; responsiveness to the stakeholder's needs, in a timely fashion
  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects concurrently
  • Experience with database software, such as Microsoft Access, Qualtrics, Red Cap, SPSS, Nvivo and/or Dedoose.
