The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Women's Genetic Center in the Department of Ob/GYN is seeking a Faculty Practice Associate to support the operational, clinical, and financial performance of a growing, highly specialized clinical genetic program. This role is a key operational leader who serves as a central point of coordination across clinical teams, administration, revenue cycle, finance, and managed care partners.

The Faculty Practice Associate plays a critical role in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations while supporting program growth, patient access, and financial sustainability. The individual in this role will analyze operational and revenue cycle data, identify gaps and opportunities, and implement process improvements that enhance performance across the practice. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and collaborative, with experience navigating complex healthcare operations in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a central point of coordination across clinical, administrative, operational, revenue cycle, finance, and managed care teams to ensure efficient execution of day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue cycle and operational performance, including accounts receivable, patient volume, charge and payment trends, denial and appeal activity, and payor requirements; identify issues, recommend solutions, and support timely resolution.
  • Support authorization, billing, and reimbursement workflows by assisting with prior authorizations, medical necessity documentation, appeals, rejected claims, write-offs, and system edits to ensure accurate charge capture and minimize reimbursement risk.
  • Develop, maintain, and use reporting tools to track performance, identify trends, and inform leadership decision-making and operational planning.
  • Collaborate with contracting and managed care teams to support insurance recognition of WGC services, facilitate implementation of new services, and address payor participation barriers.
  • Partner with clinical and scheduling teams to align authorization and operational workflows with clinical care delivery and patient access needs.

  • Participate in regular meetings with revenue cycle, operations, and finance leadership and support broader strategic initiatives that advance program growth, patient experience, and financial sustainability.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle, practice management, or a related administrative role.

  • Strong working knowledge of billing, coding, payor policies, and reimbursement processes.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data and translate findings into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast paced or start up healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an academic medical center, faculty practice organization, or specialty practice, preferably in genetics, maternal-fetal medicine, OB/GYN, or another high-complexity specialty.
  • Experience collaborating with payor contracting or managed care teams and familiarity with managed care processes.
  • Prior experience managing prior authorizations, appeals, and payor correspondence for specialized or high-complexity clinical services.
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements and staff training programs.
