The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The School of Nursing is looking to hire two (2) Columbia University students to assist (primarily in-office, but occasionally remotely) with nationwide research studies exploring hospice and palliative care, as well as infection prevention and control, in long-term settings. The candidate will work with a team of researchers at the Center for Health Policy at Columbia University School of Nursing.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

Participating in recruitment activities including:

  • Verifying contact information for nursing homes and home health agencies and preparing faxes/mailings;
  • Recruiting nursing home and home health agency staff and caregivers through phone calls and emails;
  • Mailing incentives;

Providing assistance with manuscript publishing and grant writing:

  • Formatting according to author and grant guidelines;
  • Building End Note files for manuscripts and grants;
  • Inputting data into tables and generating graphs;

Conducting literature searches and systematic reviews in Covidence;

Providing assistance with conference presentations and posters:

  • Formatting posters according to conference instructions;
  • Inputting data into tables and generating graphs for posters and Powerpoint presentations;

Assisting with survey programming and maintenance in RedCAP and Qualtrics;

Assisting with data entry and data cleaning;

Attending weekly research-related meetings (via Zoom), and Performing other related duties, as assigned.

This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the grant.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team. Familiarity with research methods and ethics.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with Microsoft Access, RedCAP or Qualtrics, and a citation manager (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, End Note) is desired.
