Join our client in New York, NY as an HR Generalist (Payroll & Benefits), managing payroll administration, benefits programs, employee onboarding, and HR compliance. In this role, you will collaborate with HR leadership and employees across multiple locations, gaining hands-on experience in payroll, benefits, immigration, and employee relations while supporting process improvements and strengthening company culture.
Responsibilities as the HR Generalist (Payroll & Benefits):
- Payroll & Benefits: Manage biweekly payroll processing and oversee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, renewals, and employee inquiries.
- Immigration & Mobility: Coordinate immigration and visa processes with external counsel, track expiration dates, and manage timely renewals.
- Employee Lifecycle: Lead onboarding, background checks, documentation, and orientation, and support terminations in compliance with policies and regulations.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the primary contact for HR inquiries and partner with leadership on employee relations and policy matters.
- Projects & Compliance: Support performance reviews, compensation cycles, compliance training, and contribute to HR reporting and process improvements.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Experience: 4-8 years of human resources experience required, preferably in financial services.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll/benefits platforms.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR practices across payroll, benefits, and immigration.
- Skills & Attributes: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
