As a Technical Sales Expert within the GT Sales SDCE team, you are a key contributor to the growth of Siemens Energy's Digital Grid business, with a strong focus on Grid Consulting and Cybersecurity solutions. Your day typically combines customer-facing activities, technical advisory work, and close collaboration with regional sales and DG portfolio management teams. You engage with utilities, TSOs, DSOs, and industrial customers to understand their grid challenges related to digitalization, resilience, and cyber risk, and translate these into tailored consulting and digital solutions.
You support sales and product development teams throughout the entire opportunity lifecycle—from early customer discussions and workshops, through shaping consulting-based value propositions, to supporting complex bids and negotiations. Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you help customers define roadmaps for secure, digital, and future-ready power grids.
Actively support regional and global sales teams in complex sales situations involving Grid Consulting, Digital Grid architectures, and OT/IT cybersecurity
Lead or contribute to customer workshops, assessments, and technical deep dives, including grid digitalization strategies and cybersecurity maturity evaluation
Shape customer-specific technical concepts, solution architectures, and consulting offerings aligned with Siemens Energy's Digital Grid portfolio
Act as a subject matter expert for grid-related consulting topics such as grid modernization, digital substations, grid resilience, and cybersecurity for energy systems
Advise customers on OT/IT security concepts, cyber risk mitigation, compliance expectations (e.g., IEC 62443–based approaches), and secure-by-design grid architectures
Contribute to the evolution of consulting services, cybersecurity assessments, and digital service packages, ensuring scalability and repeatability
Support the definition and execution of go-to-market strategies for Grid Consulting and cybersecurity services within Digital Grid
Represent Siemens Energy in customer meetings, executive briefings, conferences, and industry events
Support internal enablement sessions and trainings for sales and regional stakeholders
University degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Automation, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a comparable technical discipline
Several years of professional experience in technical sales, pre-sales, consulting, or solution architecture within the energy, utility, or industrial sectors
Solid understanding of power grids, digital grid solutions, grid automation, and OT/IT cybersecurity concepts in critical infrastructure environments
Experience with consultative B2B selling and customer-facing advisory roles
Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, compelling business value for both technical and executive audiences
Experience working in international, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders
Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
Fluent in English;
German and/or other languages are an advantage
Willingness to travel occasionally to support customers and regional teams
