Senior QA Automation Engineer
Our client, an IT Services and Consultant company, is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer for their New York, NY/NJ/Hybrid location. Responsibilities include developing and documenting application test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical specifications, evaluating requirements and defining testing objectives and approaches while working in Agile methodology, continuous review and improvement of the testing and quality assurance methodologies and measurement of these processes, testing and responding to software quality assurance issues with related groups such as Development, Database, Integration, and Customer Support, understanding business model and customer needs and applying/modifying QA techniques accordingly, providing effective communication regarding issues, testing status and potential risks, effectively interacting with global customers, business users and IT staff, managing, maintaining QA environments along with build and deployments, and designing and developing test automation solutions using Cucumber / Selenium, and other technologies determined to best suit our needs.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience, 8+ years of experience in complete software testing activities, experience with Capital Market and Fin Tech is ideal, experience with Index/Benchmarks, Asset Management, or Portfolio Investment modeling, experience with Market Data such as Equity, Forex or Options asset classes preferred and will be given preference, hands on experience working with testing frameworks, Selenium web driver, Cucumber, hands on experience with object oriented language like Java or Python, hands on experience with test frameworks like Carina, Karate would be plus, knowledge of cloud technology (AWS preferred), experience in SQL a must.
Knowledge of PL/SQL, NSQL DB, Linux/UNIX, Jenkins preferred, experience in supporting test strategy activities, particularly in integration of multiple applications and systems, experience in evaluating testing technologies, conducting test strategy design and test script code reviews, demonstrated skill proactively resolves issues and escalate appropriately, experience in Gen-AI tools preferred, excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies, excellent understanding of release testing, sign-off and deployment methods.
