Technology Analyst

As part of Technology, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking initiatives that shape New York Life's digital landscape. Leverage cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI to increase productivity, streamline processes, and create seamless experiences for clients, agents, and employees. Your expertise fuels innovation, agility, and growth — driving the company's success.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Technology Analyst to support strategic Field Experience initiatives. While prior Scrum Master experience is not required, the role will involve significant Scrum Master responsibilities within an Agile delivery environment. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to help deliver technology solutions across enterprise platforms and applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, experience working in Agile teams, and the ability to support delivery coordination, backlog management, and Scrum ceremonies in a SAFe environment.

What You'll Do:

Technology Analysis & Delivery Support

  • Partner with business and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, workflows, and functional requirements.
  • Support analysis of systems, integrations, processes, and data flows to identify improvements and efficiencies.
  • Assist with backlog refinement and ensure requirements are ready for development teams.
  • Help identify and track dependencies, risks, and issues across initiatives.
  • Support delivery activities across enterprise applications, APIs, cloud technologies, and digital platforms.

Agile & Scrum Support

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
  • Support Agile teams operating within a SAFe framework.
  • Track sprint progress, risks, blockers, and delivery milestones.
  • Coordinate with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, and engineering teams to support sprint and PI objectives.
  • Help drive continuous improvement through Agile best practices and team collaboration.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between business and technology teams to support alignment on priorities and delivery timelines.
  • Provide regular status updates and communicate delivery progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Support initiatives through the software delivery lifecycle from planning through implementation.

What You'll Bring:

You will bring strong analytical thinking, Agile delivery experience, and the ability to work across both business and technical teams to help drive successful outcomes. You are highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable navigating complex enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

You will also bring strong communication and facilitation skills, along with a passion for continuous improvement, operational excellence, and modern technology delivery practices. Success in this role requires someone who can balance business analysis responsibilities with Agile team leadership and Scrum facilitation responsibilities while maintaining a strong focus on execution and delivery outcomes.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience combined in business analysis, technology analysis, Agile delivery, software development, or related roles.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and technology delivery practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience using Agile tools such as Jira, Rally, or Azure Dev Ops.
  • Experience with process documentation, reporting, and requirement analysis.

Preferred

Skills:

  • Experience supporting Scrum Master responsibilities or Agile delivery activities.
  • Agile certification such as CSM or SAFe Scrum Master preferred.
  • Programmer background a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, APIs, integrations, and enterprise applications.
