Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Our client is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with 10–15 years of experience to support front-office trading systems in a production environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting complex trading infrastructure, managing observability, and collaborating across trading and technology teams to ensure system reliability and performance.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Support front-office trading systems in production, troubleshooting across Linux/Unix, Windows Server, networking, databases, messaging, and application layers
  • Monitor and maintain production trading environments using observability and monitoring technologies; assess business and operational impact of incidents
  • Analyze FIX Protocol messages (4.2, 4.4, 5.0) and session behavior; support order routing, client connectivity, and post-trade processing workflows
  • Collaborate with traders, business users, technology teams, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues and optimize system performance
  • Perform client onboarding flows and support Equities and Capital Markets trading operations
  • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and logging infrastructure
  • Use scripting and automation (Python, Bash/Shell, Power Shell, Perl, SQL) to improve operational efficiency and system reliability
Requirements
  • 10–15 years of experience supporting front-office trading systems, OMS/EMS platforms, and order management infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of FIX Protocol (4.2, 4.4, 5.0), order routing, trade lifecycle, and client connectivity
  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix, Windows Server, networking fundamentals, and database troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools:
    Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Datadog, Open Telemetry, Cloud Watch, or ELK Stack
  • Scripting expertise:
    Python, Bash/Shell, Power Shell, Perl, and SQL
  • Experience with Fidessa or similar trading systems platforms is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
