Automation Developer

The Automation Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting automation solutions to streamline business processes, improve operational efficiency, and reduce manual effort. This role involves creating scripts, building automated workflows, and integrating systems to ensure smooth, error-free operations across various platforms and applications. This role will sit within the Automation service line as part of the Digital Innovation Solutions team.

Design, develop, test and implement automation solutions using advanced RPA technologies.

Work closely with different business stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure automation solutions align with organizational needs.

Communicate project progress, challenges, and outcomes to stakeholders.

Conduct analysis of feasibility, risks and return on investment (ROI) for existing manual business processes across various departments to prioritize high-impact automation opportunities.

Document business requirements, technical specifications, and process workflows for future reference and scalability.

Design and implement RPA solutions to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and enhance productivity.

Write and maintain reusable, modular, and efficient code for automation tasks.

Test and debug automation scripts to ensure functionality, accuracy, and stability.

Implement quality assurance processes to sustain the reliability and accuracy of automated systems.

Ensure automation solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with organizational standards.

Maintain existing automation processes, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.

Monitor the performance of automated processes, identifying and addressing any issues or inefficiencies.

Provide ongoing maintenance, and implement necessary updates or improvements based on performance data and business requirement changes.

Continuously evaluate and optimize existing automation solutions to maximize their effectiveness.

Serve as the subject matter expert to others seeking to utilize RPA technologies to automate and streamline existing manual business processes.

Stay up-to-date with the latest automation tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

Direct, hands-on experience with one or more Automation technologies, including RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Any Where, Power Automate, Blue Prism, OpenAI.

Knowledge of the architecture, components, and best practices of leading Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms.

Proven ability to integrate automation practices effectively across all phases of the SDLC (e.g., planning, design, implementation, and maintenance).

Skills in writing clean, efficient, well-commented, and reusable automation code and scripts.

Skills in creating clear, precise technical documentation (Solution Design Documents) and effectively training non-technical stakeholders on automation processes.

Experience with process analysis, business process management, and workflow design.

Experience integrating automation solutions with web applications, desktop applications, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.

Strong ability to debug code and system failures, analyze logs, and identify root causes in automated processes.

Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles

Strong facilitation and leadership skills.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Highly organized with an obsessive eye towards planning and details.

Excellent follow up skills.

Demonstrates initiative and can self-manage domain specific work.

Strong project/process management skills and committed to continuously improve quality and effectiveness of own work.

Able to navigate across cross-functional teams to successfully accomplish role expectations.

Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Educational Level: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience.

Certification(S)/NYS Licenses:
UiPath Advanced Developer Certification or equivalent RPA certification. (preferred)
