Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst – Job Description
A QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues before release.
Role OverviewAnalyze business requirements and technical specifications
Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Perform manual and/or automated testing
Identify, document, and track bugs using tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla)
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders
Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing
Validate fixes and perform re-testing
Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Proven experience in software testing or QA role
Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools
Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
Basic knowledge of SQL and databases
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred SkillsExperience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, or JavaScript)
Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman)
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
ISTQB certification (optional but beneficial)
