Clinical Business Analyst
A large healthcare organization is seeking a Clinical Business Analyst to support its data infrastructure, analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making needs. This is a full-stack data role combining data engineering, modeling, analytics, and business analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL, Python, Tableau, ETL/ELT, and healthcare data experience, with the ability to transform complex datasets into actionable insights and scalable analytical solutions.
This is an onsite, temp-to-hire opportunity in New York, NY, and candidates must be interested in potential conversion to full-time employment.
Responsibilities:- Build and maintain data infrastructure, pipelines, and automated processes for extracting, loading, and transforming data from multiple sources using SQL, Python, and related technologies.
- Develop analytics to support operational and strategic decision-making across areas including value-based payment, revenue and expense, ambulatory care, and other healthcare domains.
- Assemble raw and disparate datasets and transform them into efficient, reliable data models for reporting, tracking, and financial operations.
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements that automate manual workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and support business and analytical requirements.
- Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports and analyses for senior management and executive decision-making.
- Create reports and dashboards using Epic healthcare data to provide visibility into key metrics, trends, and performance.
- Develop routine data validation processes to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and integrity.
- Assist with financial reconciliations and planning activities, with an emphasis on automation and process efficiency.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive documentation of data operations, processes, and curated datasets.
- Analyze and document business requirements and translate them for technical teams using conceptual data models, process models, and flowcharts.
- Identify performance improvement opportunities and support implementation of appropriate solutions.
- Participate in additional data, analytics, and business-related projects as needed.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Analytics, or a related field, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience; or
- 4 years of experience in data analytics, software programming, or a related field.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Proficiency with Python.
- Experience with Tableau and dashboard/report development.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
- Healthcare data and Epic experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to build and maintain data models and work with complex, disparate datasets.
- Strong analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Interest in converting to a full-time employee if offered.
