AWS Data Consultant

Vertical Relevance is seeking an experienced AWS Data Consultant to design, build, and deploy scalable data solutions on AWS. This role involves working closely with clients to guide cloud adoption and deliver high-quality, production-ready systems. Key responsibilities include guiding customers through cloud adoption and transformation, designing and implementing AWS data solutions and data lakes, managing AWS Glue Data Catalog and governance solutions, migrating SQL Server workloads to AWS (RDS, Aurora), using AWS DMS and SCT for migrations, performing SQL Server performance tuning, developing automation tools and technical documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to thought leadership.

Required qualifications include 8+ years of AWS data engineering or architecture experience, strong SQL Server expertise (EC2, RDS, migrations), experience with AWS DMS, SCT, and Terraform, and strong communication and client-facing skills.

Technical stack includes Amazon Sage Maker (Lakehouse, Catalog), Terraform, Apache Iceberg, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Glue, Kinesis / Firehose, Databricks or Snowflake, Redis, EKS, programming with Python, and tools such as Airflow, Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Parquet, Git, AWS: S3, Lambda, Batch, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Kinesis, Step Functions, IAM, Cloud Trail.

Relevant technical tools include primary languages - Python, tooling, services & libraries – Airflow, Kafka, Parquet, Spark, Metaflow, Git, Hadoop, and relevant AWS services including AWS Infrastructure Scripting – Cloud Formation, AWS CLI, AWS CDK, AWS Storage Services – S3, AWS Compute Services – Lambda, Batch, AWS Database Services – RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Aurora, Neptune, AWS Networking Services – VPC, AWS Management and Governance Services – Cloud Trail, Service Catalog, AWS Analytics Services – Athena, EMR, Kinesis, Glue, Lake Formation, Data Pipeline, AWS Security, Identity, Compliance Services – IAM, AWS Application Integration Services – Step Functions.
