Required
Skills & Experience:
10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Cloud Security, or Security Engineering roles; 5+ years of hands-on experience securing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments; experience with Wiz, Security Command Center (SCC), or other CSPM/CNAPP platforms; strong knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM), network security, encryption, and key management principles; experience supporting cloud logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, and security posture management initiatives;
hands-on experience securing containerized workloads and Kubernetes environments (GKE preferred); experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies; ability to assess cloud architectures and recommend secure design patterns and controls; understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Benchmarks, or CSA CCM; strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, Dev Ops, and security teams.
Nice to Have
Skills & Experience:
Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification; familiarity with Zero Trust security models and cloud governance frameworks; prior experience within highly regulated environments such as financial services or banking; experience implementing Policy-as-Code solutions and enterprise cloud security guardrails.
Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer (GCP) to support a large financial services client and sit four days/week onsite in Manhattan. This person will be joining the Information Security Division and be tied to a company wide cloud migration initiative. This individual will be responsible for securing and enhancing GCP environments by implementing security controls, reviewing cloud architectures, and partnering with engineering teams to ensure secure-by-design deployments.
They will configure and manage GCP security services, identify and remediate security risks, support Kubernetes/GKE security initiatives, and help establish cloud security standards and guardrails through Infrastructure-as-Code and Policy-as-Code practices. The role will work closely with Cloud Engineering, Dev Ops, IAM, and Cybersecurity teams to strengthen cloud security posture, support audits and assessments, and drive adoption of security best practices across the organization.
