Lead Content Designer (CMS Implementation)

Our client, a pet insurance company in NYC, is looking for a Content Designer with CMS implementation experience for a full-time contract. This person will help shape and implement a scalable CMS that will serve as the foundation for how content is created, structured, governed, and ultimately leveraged across digital experiences and AI-powered workflows.

This role will help assess the organization's needs, identify a right-sized and scalable CMS/content system solution, and partner across content, design, product, technology, and other stakeholders to bring it to life. The ideal candidate understands the intersection of content design, UX writing, content systems, and CMS architecture and can translate complex content needs into structured, reusable, and governed systems. Experience building content infrastructure in a smaller organization or startup environment—particularly within a highly regulated industry—is highly valued.

Prior experience with AI, agentic systems, or designing content structures that can support AI applications is a major plus.

  • Apply content design and UX writing principles to ensure content structures support clear, intuitive, and user-centered experiences
  • Help define how content should be created, managed, reviewed, approved, maintained, and retired within the CMS
  • Identify opportunities to streamline content operations and reduce duplication, fragmentation, and manual processes
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate content requirements into CMS architecture, schemas, components, and implementation requirements
  • Help establish the content infrastructure, structure, and governance needed to support future AI and agentic applications
