Experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Microsoft 365/Office, email, and network printing. Knowledge of Active Directory administration and user support. Experience using Service Now for incident/ticket management. Basic understanding of Cisco networking devices, Ethernet cabling, TCP/IP, multicast, and networking concepts. Experience supporting Oracle client-based applications. Ability to troubleshoot and deploy desktop/laptop hardware and software. Willingness to provide 24/7 onsite support and work at different MTA facilities as needed.
Ability to move and lift IT equipment. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities Provide onsite 24/7 IT support at the Rail Control Center, Power Control Center, and Backup Rail Control Center. Install, configure, update, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software. Provide Windows and Apple OS support to MTA users. Troubleshoot issues with desktops, laptops, printers, handheld devices, peripherals, email, and network printing. Perform basic system administration, including Active Directory-related support. Manage and resolve IT incidents and service requests through Service Now.
Support Oracle client applications and other business software. Troubleshoot basic network connectivity, Ethernet cabling, and Cisco-related issues. Perform hardware and software technical reviews and evaluations. Coordinate IT/project requirements with different MTA departments. Deploy and replace computer equipment at assigned MTA locations. Qualifications / Preferred
Skills Required:
Hands-on Desktop Support / Help Desk / IT Support experience. Windows and/or Mac OS troubleshooting experience.
Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Service Now, and hardware support. Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP and Ethernet. Strong customer service and communication skills. Preferred:
Experience with Unix, Linux, or Solaris.
Experience with Cisco networking devices. Experience supporting Oracle client-based applications.
Experience with Symbol handheld devices. Knowledge of Visio, CAD, or technical drawings.
