Desktop Support Engineer

Description We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to provide dependable technical assistance for end users in an onsite, fast-paced investment banking environment. This long-term contract position is ideal for a hands-on candidate who enjoys solving workstation, account, and device-related issues while delivering responsive support. The role requires strong communication, practical troubleshooting ability, and experience supporting core Microsoft technologies in a user-facing setting.

Responsibilities:

- Provide day-to-day desktop and help desk support for employees, resolving hardware, software, and access-related issues in a timely manner.

- Manage user accounts, security groups, and computer objects within Active Directory to support onboarding, changes, and issue resolution.

- Support Office 365 administration tasks, including maintaining user access, license assignments, and group membership updates.

- Assist with basic Microsoft Intune activities such as user and device administration, enrollment support, and troubleshooting endpoint issues.

- Diagnose and resolve problems across Windows-based systems, including Windows 10 environments, peripherals, and common workplace applications.

- Handle service desk tickets efficiently by documenting issues, prioritizing requests, and communicating progress clearly to end users.

- Prepare, organize, deploy, and relocate equipment as needed, including connecting devices, managing cables, and setting up workstations.

- Work proactively to identify recurring technical issues and help improve support processes through practical problem-solving and follow-through. Requirements - At least 3 years of experience providing IT support in a desktop, help desk, or end-user support capacity.

- Working knowledge of Active Directory, including administration of users, groups, and computer accounts.

- Experience supporting Office 365 environments, including user management, licensing, and group administration.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for basic device and user management activities.

- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills with Microsoft Windows and Windows 10 systems.

- Ability to manage physical desktop support tasks such as equipment setup, device moves, and cable connectivity.

- Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.

- Experience working with service desk ticketing processes and maintaining accurate support documentation. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
