Requirements:
Candidate Must have the following:
Minimum 3 years of significant experience working on complex litigation matters within a large law firm setting (experience will be current or very recent) ;
Some trial experience ;
Substantial hands-on litigation experience with conducting legal research, handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, conducting witness interviews, drafting pleadings, preparing and arguing motions, and preparing for trial.
Stellar academic credentials (Law Review and/or Moot Court accolades desired);
Strong research, verbal & written communication skills, and analytic skills required ;
Prior experience as a judicial law clerk is a plus ; NY Bar.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Representing a diverse clientele including corporations, financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies and regulated entities.
- Responding to subpoenas.
- Negotiating plea agreements.
- Implementing compliance programs to mitigate risk.
- Conducting confidential, privileged internal investigations.
- Representing clients in complex federal and state court trials, including cases involving False Claims Act (FCA) litigation, securities fraud, antitrust violations, money laundering, and tax fraud.
- Advising clients on designing, implementing, and auditing corporate compliance programs to prevent future regulatory enforcement.
- Negotiating with regulatory bodies to achieve non-prosecution agreements, deferred prosecution agreements, or plea agreements to avoid harsher penalties.
