The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing projects that have departmental or firmwide impact. This individual will lead and provide project direction to cross-functional teams. This candidate must be results-oriented and goal-oriented with strong task management, client relationship, and change management skills. The Senior Project Manager will focus primarily on projects with technical components and must possess a strong understanding of information technology, while also supporting broader business and Firm initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Define the scope of projects in collaboration with business and technical sponsors.
- Define project success criteria and monitor progress to ensure deliverables align with agreed-upon expectations.
- Collaboratively create detailed work plans that identify and sequence activities, align resources, and establish timelines.
- Create and execute communication plans for internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and minimize project risks throughout the project.
- Execute projects according to the established plan and report on deviations.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful completion.
- Collaborate with external consultants as needed and manage vendor relationships.
- Assist with the development of testing plans and coordinate the execution of those plans.
- Provide leadership for project teams by motivating members to meet goals and uphold responsibilities.
- Ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and deliver executive-level progress reports and presentations.
- Assess situations to determine the appropriate importance, urgency, and risk level.
- Set priorities, monitor progress toward goals, and manage details, data, and information effectively.
- Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and analyze information, generate solutions, and make sound recommendations.
- Adhere to project standards and maintain documentation as defined by the Firm's Project Management Office.
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
- Bachelor's Degree; PMP certification a plus.
- 8-10 years of leading and managing large-scale strategic projects and programs.
- Proven experience with project management methodologies;
Waterfall required, Agile/Hybrid a plus. - Strong experience communicating and interacting effectively across all levels of the Firm.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and client service skills.
- Demonstrated strength in change management, business analysis, process re-engineering, time management, and organization.
- Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, with experience presenting to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to manage several programs and/or projects simultaneously.
- Self-starter with the ability to adapt to and champion change.
