A non-profit organization based in New York City, specifically focusing on Lower Manhattan. We are seeking a Registered Nurse for their recovery and wellness center. This program offers flexible scheduling!

Shift: Monday through Friday 3pm to 11pm

Contract with Potential of Direct Hire

Compensation:
Salary Range: $50.00-$53.00 Per HR

Job Purpose:

  • Perform skilled nursing duties and medication administration oversight at residential addiction treatment facility.
  • Effectively interact with clients, significant others, and other treatment team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

Scope of Influence:

  • Oversight of all medical procedures and medications in residential addiction treatment facility
  • Supervision of LPN staff

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assess medical status of new and existing clients, refer for outside medical care when appropriate
  • Perform on-going assessments
  • Implement physician orders in a timely manner and maintain high standards of client care
  • Initiate and implement client care plans, interact with medical health care providers, oversee medical appointments, referral and follow-up appointments
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse effects
  • Dispose of all discontinued medication in compliance with regulations
  • Participate in the orientation of clients to the program and facility
  • Maintain the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting of client's files
  • Supervise LPN staff
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Involvement in facility performance assessment and improvement planning

Job Requirements / Required Knowledge:

  • NYS Registered Nurse Licensed
  • 1-2 years of Experience working with substance abuse and dual diagnosis populations
  • Excellent computer skills, willingness and ability to learn new software required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Team-player, able to multi-task and handle challenging situations
