Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' labor progress, vital signs, and fetal well-being throughout delivery.
• Implement evidence-based nursing care plans, including preparation for delivery and postpartum support.
• Educate patients and families on labor, birth procedures, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and modify individualized care plans.
• Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Promote a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and escalating concerns as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records highly preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;
  Associate degree considered with relevant experience or active BSN program enrollment.
