Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse in the SICU unit is a registered professional nurse responsible for providing safe, high-quality patient care utilizing evidence-based practices and nursing theory. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care, ensure patient safety, and promote positive health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patient needs, applying critical thinking to develop individualized care plans.
• Deliver patient-centered care by implementing nursing procedures aligned with organizational standards and research findings.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care strategies.
• Educate patients and their families about disease management, care transitions, and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing interventions and patient responses in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Initiate and participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and institutional policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NYS RN license.
• Possess BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of ICU or Med-Surg experience.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Preferably have EPIC electronic health record experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; relevant experience or active BSN program enrollment considered.
