Company:
David creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat. Our first product is a protein bar. More broadly, David is a platform to develop high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly foods that are craveable.

This is a rare opportunity to join a breakout food brand at a pivotal stage of growth. Led by CEO Peter Rahal, Cofounder and Former CEO of RXBAR, David is working to become the leading consumer food brand focused on high-protein foods in North America and beyond.

The Opportunity:

We are always looking to connect with talented Quality, Regulatory, and Food Safety professionals across levels - from early-career Analysts to experienced Managers - who are excited to help build and scale best-in-class quality and compliance systems.

These roles sit at the intersection of supplier quality, regulatory compliance, food safety programs, traceability, and operational execution. You'll work closely with R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure David's products meet internal standards and global regulatory requirements as the business grows.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Depending on level and experience, responsibilities may include:

Supplier Quality & Management
  • Qualify, onboard, audit, and approve ingredient suppliers, co-manufacturers, and 3PLs
  • Manage supplier approval status, requalification cycles, and ongoing compliance
  • Conduct domestic and international supplier audits and manage CAPAs
  • Own or support supplier scorecards, performance metrics, and non-conformance management
Food Safety, Traceability & Recall
  • Support or own food safety plans and prerequisite programs
  • Manage ingredient-level traceability from raw materials through finished goods
  • Support or lead mock recalls and real recall events
  • Ensure audit-ready documentation across suppliers, co-manufacturers, and warehouses
Regulatory Compliance & Labeling
  • Review ingredients, formulations, and supplier documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation (FDA, FSMA, GFSI, Prop 65, international requirements)
  • Review and approve labels, Nutrition Facts Panels (NFPs), ingredient statements, and claims
  • Support regulatory requirements for new product launches and product changes
Systems & Documentation
  • Maintain and improve SOPs, specifications, and training materials
  • Manage supplier documentation, COAs, and specifications
Support or lead implementation and optimization of systems such as Trace Gains
  • Improve data integrity, visibility, and reporting across quality and supply chain systems
Requirements

Required:
  • Background in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Food Safety, or related field
  • Experience in food, beverage, or CPG quality, regulatory, supplier quality, or food safety
  • Working knowledge of food safety and regulatory frameworks (FDA, FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, Prop 65)
  • Strong organizational skills with a high bar for documentation and follow-through
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, scaling environment
Preferred:
  • Experience with supplier audits, CAPAs, and recall execution
  • Familiarity with Trace Gains or similar supplier management systems
  • PCQI, HACCP, or GFSI experience
Experience working directly with co-manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, and 3PLs
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
