Statistical Research Intern

Hourly Rate: $25.00 in the US

Internship Duration:

10-12 weeks, full‑time (40 hrs/week) over the core summer period with a flexible start (ideally mid‑May to early June). Extensions into Aug-Oct may be available, shifting to part‑time (~10 hrs/week).

The Role:

The intern will work directly with the Chief Scientist and SVP of Data Science on large-scale statistical analysis projects, contributing to the development and refinement of 2026 U.S. election forecasting models.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the design and execution of statistical analyses at scale,

* Assist in building and validating predictive election models,

* Help interpret results for both technical and non-technical audiences.

* Strong written and verbal communication will be expected, as findings may need to be clearly conveyed across the organization.

Requirements:

* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in statistics, quantitative social science, or a closely related field.

* Practical working knowledge of Multilevel Regression with Post-stratification (MRP), applied statistics, and econometrics is essential.

* Comfortable working with large datasets and have hands-on programming experience in R.

* Strong written and oral communication skills are required, along with the ability to learn new software and techniques independently.

* A high degree of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy is expected.

* Familiarity with LLMs is a plus but not required.
