PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:
The Shift/Safety Supervisor is directly responsible for the management and supervision of the Safety Monitors on duty on their assigned shift for our Hope House location in Bronx, NY. Monitors all activities to ensure safety in the physical plant and civility amongst clients, visitors and staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises Safety Monitorsandensuresallsafetyandsecuritydutiesareperformed as per agency protocol.
- Conductsfiredrillsanddocumentsresults.
- RespondstoincidentsandfollowsDHSandagencyprotocolsinrespondingtoand documenting incidents.
- Reportsincidentsof Child Abusetothestate Central Registry .
- InteractswithHEROandprovidesupdatesonunitvacanciesandoccupancies.
Accepts referrals and conducts initial intake ofnew families upon arrival tothefacility. - Answerfacilityphoneanddirectscalls.
- Ensures that Safety Monitorsconductpatrolsandaremonitoringthe CCTVcamera system and are reporting and documenting observations.
- Assists Safety Monitors inensuringthatclientsfollowshelterruleswhileinthefacility.
- Trains Safety Monitorsinsecuritymeasuresandrecommendschangesin procedures/equipment to the Manager of Building Operations.
- Otherdutiesasassigned.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct dailyauditofboth theSafety
Monitor's Desk Log,andthe
Supervisor's Desk Log for accuracy and content. - Prepares/conducts
Employee Appraisal Evaluationsinatimelyandthoroughmanner . - Preparesandaudits Incident/Accident Reports.
- Maintainandschedulevansdailyusage.
- Completesendofshiftreportsandemailsreportto Managerof Operations , the Program Director and DSS/Asst. Director. Completesendofshiftreportsandemailsreportto Managerof Operations , the Program Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
- Overseeandsupervise department staffintheutilization oftheDHSClient Assistance andRe-housing
System(CARES)
Systemregarding Intake Check -In,Incident Reports, and Facility Bed Management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess Securitylicense.
- MustpossessanF
80. - MustpossesscurrentCPRcertification.
- NYS Driver'slicense required.
- Two(2) yearsof
Supervisory experienceincommercial/residentialsecurityorlaw enforcement, orFive(5) years' experience asa Private/Personal Security Officer. - Mustgavegoodcommunicationskills,experienceworkingwithwomenandchildren.
- Exhibitsuperiorprofessionalismatalltimes,evenwhenunderpressureorexperiencing challenges with the clients.
- Mustsuccessfullycompletebackgroundinvestigation.
- Reasonableaccommodationsmaybemadetoenableindividualswithdisabilitiesto perform the essential functions.
