Security Operations Engineer

HRT is seeking an experienced Security Operations Engineer to join our growing Security Operations team. In this role, you’ll be hands-on across the security operations stack in support of strategic solutions that protect and maintain HRT’s global cyber security systems. You could be handling an incident, designing a novel detection, and deploying an automation all within the same day.

We are looking for a well-rounded engineer who has extensive incident response experience and is adept at leveraging AI tools to enhance security operations. The ideal candidate is proficient in a programming language (Python preferred), and is comfortable working independently. This role also requires robust technical troubleshooting skills and exceptional organizational and project management skills. Responsibilities Help maintain and enhance HRT’s security detection and response program to protect our data and intellectual property from both internal misuse and external threats

Respond to malicious activity and anomalous events on HRT’s devices and networks

Conceive and implement novel security rules

Design and build innovative automations to supercharge incident response

Build and utilize AI tools to respond to today’s emerging threats

Foster strong cross-functional relationships with HRT’s global teams and external vendors

Qualifications5+ years of experience in a security engineering role Extensive incident response experience

Strong understanding of attacker tools and techniques

Detection engineering experience

Strong security fundamentals

Programming experience, preferably in Python Experience working with and securing Linux systems (Debian is a huge plus!)Track record of independently delivering projects from start to finish

Willingness to work an on-call rotation during business hours and one weekend per month

The estimated base salary range for this position is 150,000 to 250,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
