Are you looking to make a BIG impact? At Zeta, we pursue an unprecedented combination of high academic achievement and social-emotional development for our students. We insist that every student receives a world-class education while fostering a love for learning. We are passionate about changing the landscape of public education in New York City and beyond, and we are uncompromising in our mission.
Currently, we operate multiple elementary and middle schools across the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens. We plan to grow and open 1-2 schools each year because children in every community deserve excellent, equitable education. We're continuing to expand our presence in Queens, so we're seeking a bilingual (English- and Korean-speaking) Community Partnerships Manager to lead our engagement efforts in this community.
Join our growing team today, and be a change agent for children.
Network teammates work out of our Network Office located at 401 W 218th St., New York, NY 10034. However, this position is based primarily in Queens and requires substantial in-person outreach and engagement. Depending on your day-to-day responsibilities, you may be able to work remotely for a few days out of the week.
Deliver powerful results
To achieve our vision, we are searching for a highly self-motivated Community Partnerships Manager with a Bachelor's Degree, and ideally 4-6+ years of experience and proven success in community affairs, community partnerships, field marketing, sales, and/or customer engagement.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is required.
The ideal candidate has:
- A deep understanding of the communities and neighborhoods that Zeta aims to serve in Queens, particularly Flushing, Elmhurst, and Jamaica
- Strong communication skills and a professional presence, with the ability to connect authentically across diverse communities and stakeholders
- A self-starter mentality with a strong sense of ownership, consistently turning ideas into action and following through to completion
- A track record of independently driving results and meeting ambitious goals
- A creative and solutions-oriented approach to challenges
- Comfort planning and hosting events, and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
- Experience creating and delivering presentations to internal stakeholders and community members
- Experience working in education or other mission-aligned, high growth organizations
- Build and nurture strong partnerships with community based organizations, cultural groups, and local leaders in Queens (with a particular focus on Flushing, Elmhurst, and Jamaica) to introduce Zeta's mission and deepen its community presence
- Establish Zeta as a top educational choice within the Queens community, representing the organization with professionalism and credibility
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in community events, information sessions, and outreach activities that build awareness and excitement about Zeta's presence in Queens
- Facilitate community conversations and gather feedback from families and stakeholders
- Maintain an active, visible presence in the neighborhood through tabling events, cultural festivals, and local forums
- Research and map key community trends in Queens to inform outreach priorities and tailor engagement strategies
- Partner with various teams across the organization, including Family Outreach & Enrollment, Engagement & Impact, and Family Wow
- Wear multiple hats as a part of a scale-up team by supporting the work of others on the team and taking on new projects and tasks as needed
Engaging with families about Zeta's world-class educational program involves participating in regular community outreach shifts, which typically require extended periods of walking, standing, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
