Your Opportunity

AI is shifting how the best products get built. The handoffs between product, design, and engineering are slowing us down. The companies moving fastest are doing it with people who own the full loop, from the user problem to the shipped feature, without losing the thread.

Builders. At Taxfix, we're rebuilding our R&D organization around this idea. We call these people builders.

A Builder has a primary craft, one they're genuinely excellent at, but they don't stop there. They stretch across product, design, and engineering as the situation demands, using AI to cover the gaps. They're accountable to outcomes, not job descriptions.

Taxfix has put €5 billion back into our customers' pockets and we aren't stopping there. We operate in Germany, Spain, and the UK, and we're in the middle of a genuine AI transformation in how we build and how we're organized.

In a world where it's easier than ever to get software to 75%, with AI-generated UI, no-code tools, and rapid prototyping, the last 25% is where everything is decided. That gap between "good enough" and "unforgettable" is where great designers live. If you find handoffs frustrating because you can already see what needs to happen next, this role is for you.

Your

Responsibilities and Decisions
  • Take a user problem from rough idea to shipped interface. Write the brief, design the flow, prototype it, and ship it, with as few handoffs as possible. Own the full loop.

  • AI tools, Figma, or code, whatever gets there fastest. You use AI to explore, prototype, and accelerate, but your taste is the editorial layer. You know when AI-generated UI is wrong even when it looks right, and you fix it. Use AI as a force multiplier.

  • You don't reach for a design system component when the user problem calls for something new. You reason about what the right interaction is, then build it. Solve from first principles, not templates.

  • You're the person who notices the detail others miss and pushes the work to where it needs to be. Not perfectionism for its own sake: the craft that makes a product feel trustworthy. Sweat the final 10%.

  • No layers, no waiting. You'll work closely with two or three other people who share the same model. Work in small, focused pods.

  • You know the metric your team is trying to move. You measure your week by what changed for users, not by screens delivered. Be accountable to outcomes.

  • You give feedback directly, to anyone, regardless of level. You raise blockers early and in the open. Push back when something's wrong.

  • The designer who reads the API spec. Who writes the brief. Who builds in code when it's faster than Figma. That instinct is what we're hiring for. Stretch beyond design.

Your Profile Your Craft
  • You have genuine design craft and a track record to prove it. You've shipped interfaces that real users navigated without explanation, and you can point to the metric that moved when you did.

  • Strong visual sensibility, high standards for craft, and an eye for detail. You know what great looks like and you can help a team get there. You have taste: you know when something looks right but feels wrong, and you know how to fix it.

  • You've produced interfaces built with AI tools, Figma, or code, whatever got there fastest. The output method is irrelevant; the quality of the result is everything.

  • You know what complimentary design craft looks like from content design and research, but that doesn't stop you from doing it yourself when the job requires.

  • You've built personal AI workflows that make you meaningfully faster. You know when to trust AI output, when to edit it, and when to reject it.

  • You solve problems from first principles. You don't start with the component library. You start with the user and work forward.

  • You are able to demonstrate your work and share examples.

Your Range
  • Across all three disciplines, you can hold your own: in Design, you ship interfaces people trust. In Product, you've gone from user problem to testable prototype without waiting for a brief. In Engineering, you've used AI coding tools to build something real. You're not dependent on an engineer to implement your vision.

How You Work
  • You've operated on measurable outcomes,…
