Vice President / Technical Lead – Blockchain Backend Engineering

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President / Technical Lead – Blockchain Backend Engineering to join our Digital Infrastructure and Software Engineering team. This role is in [Location].

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

• Design, build, and enhance secure, scalable backend services that support blockchain-enabled financial infrastructure and business-critical platforms.
• Develop and maintain services that interact with private blockchain networks, including transaction management, event processing, and signing workflows.
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of distributed systems with a focus on resilience, maintainability, security, and performance.
• Lead and coordinate small engineering teams across the software development lifecycle, from design through implementation and support.
• Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into production-ready technical solutions.
• Apply secure software engineering and cybersecurity practices to strengthen application design, controls, and operational readiness.
• Support the development and integration of services for Ethereum-based and EVM-compatible blockchain environments.
• Drive engineering quality through sound software design, API design, code review, and continuous improvement of development standards.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in Go-based backend engineering, systems integration, and service-oriented architecture.
• Support troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of complex backend services and distributed applications.
• Promote best practices through mentoring, documentation, and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and distributed teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

Education

• Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Technologies and Services Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Advanced academic specialization in telematics, distributed systems, or related engineering disciplines is a plus.

Experience

• Strong experience in software engineering with a focus on backend services, distributed systems, and blockchain-integrated platforms.
• Experience designing and implementing backend services that interact with private blockchain networks, including transaction workflows, event handling, and signing capabilities.
• Strong hands-on experience with Go/Golang in backend engineering environments.
• Experience with Ethereum-based or EVM-compatible blockchain technologies and related integration patterns.
• Experience leading small technical teams and coordinating delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong software design and API design capabilities, with familiarity in modern architectural patterns such as hexagonal architecture.
• Experience applying secure software development and cybersecurity practices in engineering environments.
• Background in cybersecurity engineering, including application security reviews, secure coding, and related consulting support.
• Familiarity with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, SQL databases, MongoDB, Docker, and modern backend development tool chains.
• Proven ability to work in collaborative, delivery-focused teams and solve complex technical problems in high-accountability environments
