You will lead backend engineering initiatives focused on API integrations, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise data exchange. Working closely with product leaders, designers, clients, and cross-functional teams, you will translate business needs into reliable technical solutions.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will own the design, development, and delivery of sophisticated backend systems while partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive successful integrations and product outcomes.

• Lead the development and deployment of enterprise-grade backend solutions from architecture through production, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Design, build, and maintain APIs and integration services that enable seamless interoperability between internal platforms, partners, and client systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and technical teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and deliver exceptional user and client experiences.
• Develop cloud-native applications using technologies such as Python, Flask, AWS Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, and related infrastructure tools.
• Architect scalable systems capable of supporting high-volume transactions while maintaining performance, availability, and operational excellence.
• Establish best practices for API design, service communication, security, observability, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Make architectural decisions by evaluating technical trade-offs and selecting solutions that balance business needs, maintainability, and long-term scalability.
• Conduct code reviews, improve engineering standards, and support continuous improvement across development processes.
• Provide technical leadership by managing complex initiatives, mentoring teammates, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.
• Represent engineering capabilities and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including enterprise clients.
• Collaborate across departments to accelerate client onboarding, migrations, integrations, and technical implementations.

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with strong system design expertise, a product mindset, and a passion for building reliable technology solutions in a complex industry environment.

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a broad range of technical skills.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with frameworks such as Flask and SQL Alchemy, along with Type Script and React exposure.
• Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge, including complex queries, indexing strategies, stored procedures, views, common table expressions, and performance optimization.
• Experience designing microservices architectures, API-driven applications, distributed systems, and caching strategies.
• Proven ability to build and deploy cloud-based applications using AWS, infrastructure-as-code practices, and security-focused development approaches.
• Experience improving system scalability, reliability, monitoring, and observability in production environments.
• Strong understanding of Linux environments, scripting tools, Git workflows, testing methodologies, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with unit testing and integration testing frameworks, including approaches for maintaining high-quality production systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, ownership mindset, and ability to proactively identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Experience working with API integrations, enterprise software platforms, and client-facing technical projects.
• Previous experience in healthcare technology or pharmacy benefit management environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with technical product management, gathering functional and non-functional requirements, or serving as a technical lead is highly valued.
