Sr. Software Development Engineer, AWS Glue Data Management

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead a team working on data management features for our customers p drive innovation within our team as you oversee the technical design and operations of our Data Quality and Sensitive Data Detection capabilities. This high-visibility role allows you the opportunity to build and enhance our features to the delight of our internal and external customers.

Work with ML and AI as you help the team become an industry leader for a service that is seeing exponential adoption.

Key job responsibilities

Own system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance for our service

Oversee the implementation of AI/ML application focusing on Data Quality, Anomaly Detection, Sensitive Data Detection, and LLM interaction for our customers with our service.

Collaborate and influence other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud

Mentor other engineers, setting technical direction and best practices

Face off with Product Managers, stakeholders, and customers directly to ensure technical designs and product decisions meet their functional requirements.

Partner with other services across AWS to expand adoption of our service.

Be an advocate of industry best-practices to produce reliable, fault-torrent and dependable code

Code and test complex system modules; develop and leverage frameworks to be effective and efficient

Participate in architecture, design and code reviews to maintain our high development standards

Lead team estimation and planning to ensure delivery and success.

Be a pioneer in agentic revolution as our service reimagines how it will be used in the future.

About the team

The data management team focuses on the data management features for the analytics services within AWS.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
