Overview:
A leading global investment management firm is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to help build and enhance critical investment and operational platforms used across multiple business lines. This is a unique opportunity for a senior hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, mentoring engineers, partnering with business stakeholders, and driving delivery of high-impact platform initiatives. The role combines technical leadership with meaningful hands-on development and offers the opportunity to shape systems that support investment decision-making, data management, workflow automation, and business operations.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the design and delivery of complex software platforms and distributed systems

* Drive architecture and technical design decisions across multiple initiatives

* Partner closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams

* Mentor junior engineers and help establish engineering best practices

* Remain actively involved in software development and technical problem solving

* Build scalable APIs, backend services, and cloud-native applications

* Contribute to platform modernization, automation, and AI-enabled initiatives
* 7-15+ years of software engineering experience

* Strong experience building enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems

* Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers

* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

* Experience designing and building APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications

* Strong system design and architectural skills

* Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

Preferred Experience:

* Financial services, investment management, capital markets, trading, market data, or fintech experience

* Experience supporting investment, portfolio, trading, reference data, workflow, or operational platforms

* Exposure to Order Management Systems (OMS), investment workflows, trade lifecycle processes, or related front-office technologies

* Experience leveraging AI tools and AI-assisted development practices
