Applied AI Engineer, Search & Integration — New York (On Site) — $160K-$220K Base

We're hiring an Applied AI Engineer to own the document data layer beneath an AI research agent used daily by 70+ financial institutions across the US, Europe, and Asia.

Institutional research runs on documents: filings, broker research, call transcripts, internal notes. This role owns the entire substrate that makes those usable by an agent, including ingestion, parsing with page-level provenance, chunking, metadata enrichment, and an agent-first search layer built on identification over retrieval.

• A connector layer ingesting from Google Drive, SharePoint, Gmail and Outlook, and partner feeds
• A parsing pipeline with fallback-chain orchestration and exact-location source citation
• LLM metadata extraction with multi-model fallback chains and entity resolution
• Indexing into Open Search and PostgreSQL under a filterable metadata contract
• Execution infrastructure:
  Kubernetes, Git Ops via ArgoCD, AWS resources as code

• Python (FastAPI, async) and comfort going down the stack into infra
• Experience with a search or data store, and a willingness to learn the rest
• Interest in designing search for agents, not just people
