Senior Software Engineer – Risk Technology
About
Long Ridge Partners is engaged with a leading multi-strategy hedge fund to identify a Senior Software Engineer for their Risk Technology team. The firm manages capital globally across equities, fixed income, macro, and commodities, and is known for combining disciplined risk management with a culture of intellectual curiosity and deep technology investment.
The Team
The Risk Technology team builds and maintains systems that drive risk measurement, reporting, guideline monitoring, and research across the firm. Primary stakeholders include the Risk Department, Portfolio Managers, the Client Relationship Group, and Senior Management. The team is currently executing on a multi-year initiative to build next-generation risk infrastructure, expanding coverage of new asset classes, modernizing architecture, and deepening capabilities in support of firm growth.
The Role
The Senior Software Engineer will partner directly with Risk Research and Risk Management teams, taking ownership of end-to-end design and delivery of Python-based solutions, from core utilities and user-facing interfaces to cloud-deployed services. This is a high-visibility role for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of finance and technology, and who wants their work to directly shape how a top-tier investment firm understands and manages risk
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, production-quality Python applications powering firm-wide risk systems
- Build intuitive interfaces and core utilities enabling stakeholders to interact with risk data in meaningful ways
- Architect and deploy cloud-based services supporting real-time and batch risk workflows
- Collaborate closely with the Risk team to translate research initiatives into robust engineering solutions
- Develop and deepen expertise in fixed income markets and risk modeling
- Drive projects from inception through delivery with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years of software development experience in financial services, preferably in fixed income asset management
- Deep expertise in Python and/or C#, with a strong track record of delivering production-grade, scalable applications
- Proven experience working with large-scale datasets, including storage, transmission, and transformation pipelines
- Strong command of SQL and relational database technologies
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to define a path forward and execute independently
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with time series datasets
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS S3, Kubernetes, and Docker
