Senior Software Engineer/Algorithmic Trading Platform

Global electronic trading industry leader has an immediate need for a Senior Software Engineer to join their world class team building and enhancing the stability and robustness of the algorithmic trading platform and trading services in a full time, hybrid role based in NYC. This includes feature delivery, customization and support of the existing platform while building new tools and frameworks for automated testing of trading platforms, systems, and execution algorithms.

This person will partner with Algo Developers, Product, Infrastructure and Support teams in a highly collaborative, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, optimize, and support global equity trading platform.
• Create and implement test automation frameworks covering all functionality, performance and stability
• Triage critical production issues and provide rapid response during trading system incidents as part of the level 3 response team
• Actively contribute to all areas of software development lifecycle including design, development, integration, automated testing, optimization, and maintenance.
• Contribute to all areas of team performance including daily scrums and after-action reviews.

Qualifications/ Experience

• 7+ years developing equity trading platforms, tools and services in a global financial services company using Java.
• BS/BA degree or higher in Computer Science and/or Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in designing, developing, and implementing trading system components and/or services for trading systems.
• Experience with OMS/EMS such as Info Reach, Fidessa, Flex Trade, Portware, etc.
• Knowledge of Equity market micro-structure, order handling, and electronic trading.
• Strong multithreaded and network programming experience.
• Expert proficiency with computer technologies including Java, Linux, and OO Design with a focus on performance, re-usability, test automation, and flexibility for customizations.
• Experience with messaging products such as Solace is preferred..
• Strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively at all organizational levels with written and verbal communication

Base salary: $200,000.

-$245,000.
