Our Banking Payments team is expanding its product footprint into the Commercial Banking space and is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer – Advanced to join the team.

This role is primarily focused on Backend Development (80%) with Frontend Development (20%) using React.js. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in building scalable microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-based solutions while contributing to frontend development.

This is a hands-on development role requiring strong technical leadership, solution design expertise, and ownership of applications throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

Hands-On Development

• Design, develop, and deliver complex features, critical components, and production-ready solutions.
• Solve challenging technical problems and provide guidance to team members.

Solution Design & Architecture

• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Define APIs, data models, integration patterns, and system architectures.

Code Quality & Best Practices

• Establish and enforce coding standards and development best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage.

Mentorship & Leadership

• Mentor and coach engineering team members.
• Support onboarding, knowledge sharing, and technical skill development.

Delivery Ownership

• Break down initiatives into manageable deliverables.
• Estimate effort, manage dependencies, and ensure timely project delivery.

Operational Excellence

• Drive production reliability through monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in troubleshooting and support activities as needed.

Performance & Scalability

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Optimize applications and services to meet throughput, latency, and SLA requirements.

Security & Risk Management

• Implement secure coding practices and secure system designs.
• Ensure proper authentication, authorization, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.

• Partner with Product, QA, Operations, and business stakeholders.
• Communicate technical tradeoffs, project risks, and delivery status effectively.

• Enhance engineering processes, including:

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in production environments.
• Experience working with Cassandra and Cockroach DB.
• Proficiency in React.js for frontend development.
• Experience building and supporting highly scalable distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and cloud-native development.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Prior experience in Banking, Payments, or Financial Services environments is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring development teams.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and high-volume transaction processing systems.
• Experience with modern Dev Ops practices, including:
• CI/CD pipelines
• Production monitoring tools
