Ostium Infrastructure Role

Ostium is on a simple mission: make it possible for anyone with a digital wallet to trade stocks, commodities, currencies, and crypto with full transparency. No brokers, no freezes, no hidden spreads. We're replacing the opaque, offshore brokerage model with a transparent, permissionless trading stack built onchain. Every trade, deposit, and withdrawal is verifiable through open, auditable code. We've raised $27.9M+ from General Catalyst, Jump, Local Globe, Susquehanna (SIG), GSR, Alliance DAO, Soma Capital, Balaji Srinivasan, Meltem Demirors, and others.

Ostium is looking for a senior-level infrastructure to spearhead our ambitious efforts on the infrastructure side. We are building a state-of-the-art infrastructure layer that will allow engineers to self-serve 90% of their infrastructure needs. This will allow you to focus on higher-level projects and help us achieve ambitious goals.

This is an on-site position based in our New York office.

Maintain, improve, and optimize a new data pipeline to handle massive scale effectively.

Use 100% Infrastructure as Code to build, maintain, deploy, and manage applications and services.

Decrease latency, increase visibility, and find ways to give us an edge (real financial impact on the business). This means both working with app teams + writing application code.

Lead the company on best practices for infrastructure.

Empower every single developer at Ostium to self-serve: deploy new applications, request new infrastructure, monitor and alert—you name it.

Constantly thinking like a hacker who wants to take advantage of our system and bring it down. Leveraging AI tools and our existing test suite to coordinate contained attacks on our system.

An in-hour testing and validation tool for the various parts of our stack locally. Make it mature so developers can run their application in 10 different ways locally and work effectively with multiple agents in parallel.

Core infrastructure fundamentals (security, networking, access control, etc).

Strong experience with Kubernetes and Kubernetes best practices.

Hands-on experience with Terraform, ArgoCD, Git Hub Action, Docker, Prometheus, and Grafana. Evangelist of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Experienced with CICD pipelines and building dynamic release systems.

We have a global team, with our core offices in New York and Miami. If you're based in those cities, we expect you'll generally be working from the office. We also hire remote employees when it makes sense, and in those cases, we expect you'll travel in for key product sprints so we can build together in person. We're intentionally building an in-person culture because the best collaboration happens face-to-face, especially during those sprints.

That said, we build flexibility into the year: many team members work remotely while visiting family over the holidays.
