Compensation

$65 / hour

Position Summary

Reporting to the Signal Superintendent or Foreman, the Signalman performs all necessary installations, inspections, tests, and maintenance as required.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

* Perform general labor tasks as necessary

* Assist in groundwork installations, wiring & testing

* Maintain tools and equipment in ready-for-service condition

* Perform all periodic inspection and tests as per railway and Rail Works standards

* Comply with railway and Rail Works safe work practices and signal work procedures

* Perform all administrative duties related to proper documentation as per Rail Works Quality Management System

Required

Skills and Qualifications

* Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent

* Three (3) years of recent related experience. Railway or construction experience would be an asset

* Previous electronics training would be an asset

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

* Work is outdoors in all weather conditions

* Exposure to live track/trains and high voltage

* Work is safety sensitive and protective equipment is required

* Travel to work sites is required.
