We are seeking a hands‑on Controller to oversee daily accounting operations for a growing distribution company with a strong e‑commerce presence. The ideal candidate will have solid experience managing accounting functions, leading a small team to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations
  • Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and general ledger management.
  • Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records of revenue recognition, COGS, and intercompany transactions.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Inventory & Distribution
  • Manage cost accounting and inventory valuation processes, including reconciliations between warehouse management systems and Net Suite.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations to ensure accurate tracking of goods in transit, landed costs, and returns.
Leadership & Compliance
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring adherence to policies and deadlines.
  • Support annual audit and tax filings by preparing schedules and coordinating with external auditors.
  • Maintain compliance with state and local sales tax reporting, including nexus for multi‑state distribution.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support scalability as the company grows.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
  • Inventory or cost accounting experience is a plus
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills
  • Proven ability to lead a small team and thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
