Senior Consultant @ Selby Jennings | University of Southern California Alum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis preferred
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced technical proficiency, including MS Office applications
- Skilled in accounting software and highly proficient in Excel
- Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Familiarity with statutory accounting requirements is a plus
- A collaborative attitude with humility and team spirit
- Dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences in every interaction
- Maintain and reconcile statutory accounting records in compliance with regulations and standards
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements for statutory reporting
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to collect and validate financial data
- Assist in audit preparation and support external auditors during reviews
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Stay informed on changes in statutory accounting regulations to ensure compliance
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth‑oriented environment
- Participate in special projects and perform ad‑hoc financial analyses as needed
- Conduct in-depth analytics on statutory reporting and prepare management discussion and analysis
- Develop summary reports and agendas based on analytical findings
- Prepare and reconcile State Premium Stop‑Loss recovery billing
- Perform general ledger activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, to support monthly close processes
