Overview
Our client is a privately-held diversified real estate company headquartered in New York, with offices in 4 other major cities across the country. Over its 4 decade history, the executive management team have developed, owned and overseen in excess of 25 million square feet of office, residential, retail and recreational properties and currently control assets with a value of over $3 billion.
PositionWe are looking for an accountant to join the team in the New York City location on Park Ave. The Accountant role is primarily in the office with some remote flexibility.
Responsibilities- Responsible for general ledger/journal entry input and reconciliation to sub-ledgers
- Reconcile monthly cash management functions, bank statements, and balance sheet accounts; maintain appropriate back-up documentation including accrual and prepaid schedules
- Preparation of depreciation and amortization schedules on income tax & GAAP basis
- Support with the preparation of income tax accrual basis year end books and annual financial statements in conjunction with the any audits conducted by external public accountants
- Assist with tax returns prepared by external public accountants
- Prepare investor and lender monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Process timely payment disbursements to vendors; act as primary accounting liaison to all vendors; review invoice and check requests to ensure proper coding and authorization, follow up with staff and vendors to resolve discrepancies; monthly reconciliation of A/P
- Manage accounts receivable and revenue collection functions, including preparing, distributing, and posting invoices, and following up on outstanding balances
- Coordinate with other departments to record monthly allocations and chargebacks to other business entities, and properties
- Ad-hoc reports and projects as necessary
- Associates or Bachelor degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of Real Page real estate accounting software is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with effective organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive, complete assignments and meet deadlines
- Must have property management or real estate experience
COVID-19 vaccination is required of all employees so new hires will need to provide proof of vaccination.
Salary is based upon experience. Target range is $80,000 - $110,000 plus bonus and a full benefits package.
